With live music from Pallmer, Inland Island, Dead Fibres, Your Friend in LA

Thursdays this summer, The Capital Bar hosts THE LOTTERY II: a reincarnated version of the Shifty Bits Cult staple from earlier in the decade, this time w/ ~*~Brookside Mall~*~ at the helm.
The concept is simple: There are not enough platforms for musicians and bands to perform in the city. The Lottery is a fun night that allows showcasing artists to play to a crowd, creating an entry point for new music in Fredericton. Do you play music? If so, we want to welcome you to perform a 20-ish minute set at The Lottery. The event will happen every Thursday (9pm-12am) from May 31-August 30. New band? Old band? Touring band? Cover band? Rusty band? Solo band? We want U! Please fill out the form below!

FYI, general info: Every audience member will receive one 50/50 ticket with their admission. As well, everyone receives a 50/50 ticket for each beverage purchase. At the end of the night, we will draw several tickets. If an audience member’s ticket is drawn, they get to SPIN THE WHEEL, which includes prizes such as bar tabs, grub, tickets, merch, and $100 CA$H. If the $100 is not claimed one week, it will be added to the pot for the next week, and so on, until it is claimed.

Each performing band will also receive ONE SPIN. Bands spin first. To be clear, there are no other financial benefits to participating in The Lottery. The $5 cover attached to the event will fund the sound technician. *IF/WHEN* costs are covered by a good turnout, any “profit” will be distributed amongst the non-local/touring bands to assist with gas and lodging.

Note: The Lottery is an inclusive event and will not tolerate any abusive behaviour from performers or audience members. Questions? Please email event admins Brookside Mall [at] brooksidemaul@gmail.com. Thank you!
